In the News

The stories and information on this page shows you why we love what we do and how meaningful a patient’s time in hospice care can truly be. Each life is unique and our time together is precious. It is a blessing to be able to share these important moments with our patients and their families.

Our Aides Are the Best!

Happy Friday! This happens to be the week the nation celebrates the efforts of CNAs, home health aides and hospice aides. We might not be very good at remembering holidays, but we are really good at remembering the amazing resilience, strength and compassion that our aides have for our patients. Aides often form the closest relationship with our patients. It is the most intimate by the very nature of the work, but they also make great friends to the caregivers and family members. They share their lives during a really emotional time of life, and they do it day after day, bath after bath, and sometimes in difficult circumstances. Our aides don’t have the luxury of having another set of hands to help. They do what they do with expert care, kindness, and humor, often in less-than-the-best conditions. They have the diplomacy and patience of saints!
We want our aides to know how highly valued they are, how fundamentally critical they are to our care, to our whole program. I want them to go to bed at night knowing that they make an enormous contribution to the last days of life for our patients. Truly, they do God’s work. It is exhausting, back-breaking work, and, like so much in hospice work, it is a calling. We could not do what we do without them.
So hug an aide today….or next week or next month…and never stop thanking them. 🥰
Meet our wonderful aides (from back left): Darlene, Lauren, and Melissa and (front row) Abbi and Angie! Thank you all! We are blessed to have you on our team. ❤️🙏

A Legacy Project: We Love Our Veterans!

Friday, June 16, 2023 was an extra-special day for one of our heroic veteran patients. He was presented with a military challenge coin and a certificate honoring his service to our country. Thanks to our social worker Logan for arranging this event. It was such a meaningful moment! We love our veterans! 🥰

Sweet Closure: Patient visits his brother’s grave

We recently celebrated a big day for one of our patients. Social workers Logan and Jen worked with the Sugar Creek Township Fire Department to make his dream of visiting his brother’s gravesite come true. It was truly a collaborative effort. We want to thank the Sugar Creek Township Fire Department for all their help! And good job, Logan and Jen! It’s an honor to be a part of important moments like this, and we hope this visit has been a blessing and a comfort to this special patient and his family. 🙏💕
