Symptom Management & Pain Relief

The comfort you want.
The expertise you need.
The education you trust.

When someone nears the end of life and becomes a hospice patient, his or her care plan changes from curative treatment to establishing comfort and relieving symptoms. Many patients with advanced disease at the end of life experience uncomfortable symptoms such as anxiety, anorexia, constipation, delirium, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and pain.

The team at Suburban Hospice is expert in pain relief with extensive knowledge of pain management. This allows us to balance pain relief and symptom management with the overall care goals of the patient and family. We educate our families about the medications they are using and help everyone involved understand how to manage the pain effectively. We are always within reach (24 hours a day) if you have questions or concerns or there is a change in your loved one’s needs. This gives patients and families the peace of mind to truly make the most of their time together

Our nurses also continually monitor and manage prescriptions to assure each patient is taking the right medication at the right time. If a prescription changes or if new prescription or refill is needed, our team coordinates with the physician and pharmacy and then deliver the proper medication to the patient’s home.

We also have a Caregiver Library posted online so that caregivers can look up common at-home tasks and procedures. If you don’t find the answer you need, or you simply would like to ask a question to an on-call nurse, please contact us anytime at (833) 888-7222.
