We believe that every moment of every day matters and that those patients who are suffering a life-limiting illness should be afforded the highest quality of care. This is why we provide three levels of care for delivering hospice to our patients.
Most of our patients are cared for at home with their loved ones as caregivers and their hospice team as support. Sometimes a patient will need a brief stay in one of our affiliated hospitals to get difficult symptoms under control.
At Hancock Regional Hospital, we a special area to provide this symptom control care. While not an option for long term stays, patients may need a few days of symptom control before transitioning back home or to another care setting.
Respite care can be provided as well. Caregivers who need a break can take advantage of a 5-day respite stay in one of our area skilled nursing facilities.
